Reassuring Hope and Building Balanced Lives for a Better Society
About Us
In a world where many families battle silently with fertility issues,
women struggle for empowerment, and young people lack the
mentorship and direction needed for a balanced life, The Gabanella Life
Foundation (GLF) emerges as a beacon, reassuring hope.
The Founders
Mr. & Mrs. Gabriel and Emmanuella Gabriel-Omubo
Founded by Mr. & Mrs. Gabriel and Emmanuella Gabriel-Omubo, the
Foundation is driven by a shared passion, to build a balanced and
progressive society by supporting families, empowering women, and
nurturing the next generation.
Fertility and Family Health in Nigeria and Africa
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 6 people
globally is affected by infertility. In sub-Saharan Africa, infertility affects between 10–30% of couples, often leading to emotional trauma, stigma, and family breakdowns.
Nigeria alone records an infertility rate of approximately 25%, meaning 1 in every 4 couples experiences difficulty conceiving. Yet, less than 20% of those affected can afford medical interventions like IVF, IUI, or specialist fertility care.
Many women are unfairly blamed for infertility, despite medical data showing men contribute to 40–50% of infertility cases.
Beyond fertility, maternal health remains a pressing issue:
▪︎ Nigeria accounts for over 20% of global maternal deaths, with 512 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births (World Bank, 2023).
▪︎ Many deaths occur due to lack of access to skilled care, delayed intervention, and poverty.
▪︎ Adolescent mothers face greater health risks, with early pregnancies reducing education and economic opportunities.
Amidst these realities, Gabanella Life Foundation stands as a transformational response — bridging these gaps through health, education, empowerment, and mentorship.
